Once again, deconstruction and elitism taken one step too far ? Next Gen is really a weird website.
I stopped reading it when I noticed that they had actually removed a bad opinion piece about Assasins Creed two or three month ago....
I like this website, (and listening to their podcast too), even if I not all the time agree with what they are saying, their is always something different or interesting (because right or wrong) about their point of view.
It's very close to the French website Overgame or to some Edge articles i think.
Even if I thought the analysis perhaps too deep or elitist too, all the game they speak of in this first part are games that i loved and play recently.
Sure, the games in the list are all good ^_^
But the editorial stance is rubbish. And yes, it actually reminds me a lot about how Edge can just be as annoying ;-)
For me, their type of discourse ruined it all: they start from a good idea, or make a good observation, but then go all "over the top" about it.
The article then stopped from being something instructive to being a lyrical "tour de force" :-)
I actually learn and discover more by reading Kotaku than Next Gen...
But, hey, maybe it's just me being populist again... ;-)
