Here's a shortlist on some of the games that have been hitting the highs of piracy in one of the torrent sites...

It’s sad to see how much people are destroying the chances, because of their actions, for any team to even try to go to this not-enough profitable market...
Don't blame developers when you look right now at the PSP new games calendar after March.

The only thing making me glad this time, is that people buying and playing from a UMD disc will have a better experience (with no framerate issue) because memory stick stream slower than the UMD disk, and we optimize everything for it... at least, a small reward for honest players :).

yes a real dilema but i'm not sure that highly acclaimed IP like your game is loosing money on that, i'm more concerned on the small who will try to make game for PSP. A publisher told me the last time i've met him that my game is for boys and this is not good because boys don't pay for good game. Instead girls pays without complaining for poorly poney games....

You’re right, even if I think small and big are hit by that problem: P
It just that the big ones are usually making money in the end because it became a must have or a Must offer, a product you will get for someone else or you will pick when you don't really know what to get, where the small cannot count on it...

I will not enter into the un-constructing comparison (because way more factor enter into it than just piracy) of sells of known IP's when a console is pirated or not, but i can tell you that Gow is far from the numbers or Halo 3 or SmbB on the first week (with the almost hardware install base :)...

Note that you should not consider these numbers as lost sales on your product.

I read some report on a survey that said that reducing the piracy of about 1000 copies would only give something like 1 sale (!).
Meaning that people who download the game are mainly people who only want to give it a try, not buy it if there were no other possibility.
